Kata-kata “Let it go” terngiang-ngiang di kepala saya.

Mungkin inilah pesan yang ingin disampaikan lagu ini.

“ikhlaskanlah… relakanlah..” Jangan pernah menyesal, jika penyesalanmu membuatmu tak berkembang… Menyesallah atas kegagalanmu, tapi janganlah kamu terpuruk. Everything have their own way.. ingatlah semua, kemudian biarkan dia pergi.

Entah apakah memang itu makna asli yang sebenarnya ingin disampaikan LP atau bukan, ini merupakan penafsiran dan apresiasi subyektif saya semata.

Terus, kenapa judul lagunya iridescent? Menurut kamus sih, iridescent artinya, Kata sifat. Warna – warni, yang berhubungan dengan perubahan warna.

" IRIDESCENT " yang misterius

Ini adalah gambar yang saya capture dari video klip Linkin Park-Iridescent, soundtrack film Transformer3. Teringat akan sesuatu?

Yapz, betul sekali…

Mirip dengan lukisan “Last Supper”nya Leonardo da Vinci pada akhir tahun 1490an.

Sebuah lukisan terkenal yang penuh misteri dan cerita konspirasi.

Cerita punya cerita dari sang sutradara, Mr. Joe Hahn, “emang sengaja koq”.

Tetapi, apa yang ingin disampaikan Mr. Hahn dari video klip ini?

Itulah yang menjadi misteri.

Saya sudah googling kemana-mana ndak nemu jawabannya.

Lah, Mike Shinoda sendiri juga ndak ngerti koq apa “karep” Mr. Hahn.

Berikut kutipan wawancara Mike dengan MTV,

“All I know about the concept is that Joe Hahn sent me an e-mail that said something about ‘In the valley of the blind, the one-eyed man is king’, or something like that. And the next thing I know, I’ve got horns growing out of my shoulders, and I’ve got one blind eye, and I’ve got a white dog and a snake on a throne made of antlers. I think you’d have to ask Joe what that all means.”

Kurang lebih dalam bahasa Indonesia artinya :

“Yang kutahu mengenai konsep video itu hanyalah Joe Hahn mengirimiku sebuah e-mail (surat elektronik, red.) mengenai sesuatu seperti ‘Di lembah mereka yang buta, pria bermata satu adalah raja,’ atau seperti itu,” penyanyi/rapper Mike Shinoda tertawa. “Dan hal berikutnya yang aku tahu, aku mendapati tanduk tumbuh di kedua bahuku, satu mata buta, seekor anjing putih dan seekor ular di atas sebuah singgasana yang terbuat dari tanduk. Sepertinya kalian harus bertanya pada Joe apa arti semua itu.”

Dalam behind the scene pembuatan video klip ini, Mr. Hahn menjelaskan, “ I wanted to combine the “soulfulness” of Transformers: Dark of the Moon to the soulfulness of what they do, as well as elements of robots tying into human existence”.

Yapz, membaca kata “soulfulness”, tambah misterius saja kan ?

Seolah ada pesan tersembunyi di sana.

Tetapi cukup berhasil menggetarkan jiwa koq. Minimalnya bagi saya, sebagai salah seorang penggemar Linkin Park.
